Stephen Warnock wondered if Everton could make an appointment as big as Conte. Italian tactician Conte was the Inter Milan manager before he exited the club earlier this summer despite leading the Nerazzuri to the first league title in over a decade.

Conte came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur as their new manager before the move fell through. Italian tactician Conte is not a stranger to Premier League football having been in charge of West London giants Chelsea for two years. He was the mastermind behind the Premier League title won in his first season as the Blues boss.

Italian manager Conte was named the Chelsea boss in the summer of 2016 before he went on to win the league title at the end of the 2016/17 campaign. He was not able to defend the title in his second season at Chelsea as the Blues finished the campaign in fifth place thereby failing to even qualify for the Champions League. Conte had a difficult exit at Chelsea at the end of his second season at Stamford Bridge.

Everton are in search of a new manager after the exit of Carlo Ancelotti this summer. Italian tactician Ancelotti signed a three-year deal to return toReal Madrid six years after the end of his first spell with the Spanish giants. Ancelotti spent just one full season at Everton. The season started well for Ancelotti and Everton as the Toffees led the league in the opening weeks of the season but they could not maintain the momentum. In the end, Everton finished the campaign in tenth place.
