Stephen Warnock talked about Gray while he was on Sky Sports to discuss transfers. According to him, the ex-England junior international would be delighted that he’s back in familiar surroundings after a spell with Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

Gray is back in the Premier League following his transfer to Merseyside giants Everton at the end of last month. The Toffees agreed a £1.5m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for him to return to the English top flight.

Former England junior international Gray previously featured for Birmingham City in the Championship and Leicester City in the Premier League. Gray was a member of the Leicester City squad that stunned the Premier League during the 2015/16 season. Leicester City were not in the title talk at all when the season started with a lot of pundits tipping them for relegation after Italian tactician Claudio Ranieri was appointed to replace Nigel Pearson. Pearson had masterminded a great escape for the Foxes in their first season back in the Premier League.

Gray is back in the Premier League after just six months with Bayer Leverkusen. While he was in Germany, the winger scored once in ten Bundesliga appearances. He had moved to Leverkusen from Leicester City at the start of the year. The winger signed for 18 months when he moved to Bayer Leverkusen from Leicester City in January 2021 and he scored on his debut for the club. Gray was introduced into the game in the 74th minute and he still managed to find the back of the net during the game which ended in a 5-2 win over VfB Stuttgart.
