Sky Sports pundit compares Leroy Sane with Premier League great

Sky Sports pundit Stephen Warnock has placed a huge compliment on Leroy Sane by comparing the German attacker with Premier League and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs. The Germany international endured a tough start to the top-flight season with Manchester City but he has sorted himself over the past few months where he has contributed six goals and six assists from just seven league starts.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Warnock has praised the qualities of Sane and believes the German would be the closest that can be compared to Giggs, he said: “Leroy Sane is the closest thing we’ve seen to Ryan Giggs in years. His ability to glide past players makes it look effortless. But what I like about the two wingers is when the ball’s on the opposite side as we saw last night with Sane’s goal and with [Riyad] Mahrez’s goal later on is that they become a second striker when the ball’s on the opposite side of the pitch and it’s something that Pep’s making sure that they do. It’s getting men in the box, it’s getting people in the right areas and that’s why they’re scoring so many goals.”

Bradford Lose Again To Plymouth Argyle

Bradford City have lost yet again but now to Plymouth Argyle. Despite the sack of Stuart McCall, things have not changed much at the side. Simon Grayson could not inspire the team to success against Plymouth. Loanees Stephen Warnock and Matty Lund could not do anything to stop the losses as well.

Warnock and Lund were expected to help City stop the bleeding that has seen the team slide off the League One playoff spots. Grayson played Warnock in the left back role at Home Park while Lund started from the bench but the damage had been done. Plymouth’s Antoni Sarcevic’s lone goal before half time was enough to separate both sides. The Burton Albion on loan stars will need to do more to help Bradford achieve their aim as the season gradually draws to a close. Continue reading “Bradford Lose Again To Plymouth Argyle”

Warnock Blames Conte

Former Blackburn defender Stephen Warnock believes that Antonio Conte is only to blame for the anticipated exit from Chelsea. The Italian is widely expected to leave the blues at the end of the campaign after a disastrous season that saw the club finish outside the top four for the second time in the last five years. Despite winning the league title 12 months ago, Chelsea were unable to build on the success. The 3-5-2 formation played a huge role in Conte’s immediate success but the lack of good signings led to the club following way off the pace in the 2017-18 campaign.

Apart from the lack of impact on the pitch and within the squad, Warnock also says that Conte has not been able to handle himself in the best possible manner in front of the media. Throughout last summer, Conte was moaning about the lack of signings and this led to the club hurriedly bringing in the likes of Alvaro Morata – even though Romelu Lukaku was the first choice for the manager. There has been significant shakeup in the backroom staff with Michael Emenalo leaving the club after a decade. Most of the summer signings did not prove to be a success, but Emenalo did an extremely good job at the club. Continue reading “Warnock Blames Conte”
