Stephan Warnock raves about Liverpool star Sadio Mane

Sky Sports pundit Stephan Warnock has said that Sadio Mane has improved into a better player during his time at Liverpool. The Senegal international has been with the Reds for the past three years and during this period, he has transformed into one of the Premier League’s best forwards and has contributed goals at regular intervals.

Mane ended the previous campaign with his best-ever season tally of 26 goals across all competitions and he has continued in the same vein of form this term with eight goals to date. Speaking on Sky Sports, Warnock said that Mane has been immense for the Reds in recent seasons and his partnership with Andy Robertson is mesmerising to watch.

He told: “I just think that ever since he has come into the club that he has just got better and better every game he plays. The relationship he has with Andy Robertson is incredible, he knows when Robertson is going to go down the outside, so dips inside himself to play Robertson in because of the quality he possesses as well. He’s just got…his attitude is infectious when you see him play, any young kid whose watching him can see the work-rate he has got and that he plays with the biggest smile on his face and it’s the quality at the end of it as well that he possesses.”

Mane recently had a forgettable game at Sheffield United where he squandered two clear-cut chances to put the Reds in front. Nonetheless, the Merseyside giants were able to secure maximum points after the Blades goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a goalkeeping blunder from a hopeful shot from Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Senegalese has since redeemed himself against Leicester City as he contributed towards both goals in a 2-1 triumph. Mane broke the deadlock before the interval after he scored on the counter-attack. James Maddison levelled the scores for the Foxes with 10 minutes left but Mane had the final say as he won a stoppage time penalty which was converted by James Milner. With the result, Liverpool have edged eight points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table and they seem genuine favourites to secure a maiden Premier League title at the current point of time.
